Lacrosse Equipment
To help reduce the barrier to entry, for first-year players (boys and girls) we offer equipment to use during the season with a check deposit. This check is not cashed unless the gear is not returned or is returned damaged. The deposit cost for boys equipment is $200 and for girls is $75. Boys equipment includes helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and gloves. Boys must provide their own stick. Girls equipment includes a stick, goggles, and a stick bag. Click on the below links to reserve your grant equipment gear.
You must be registered for a program prior to reserving grant equipment.
Boys Equipment Grant (select medium or large)
There are many online retailers that sell lacrosse gear. Several companies offer starter kits for under $200 (some come with a stick and/or
helmet).
Boys (picture and costs)
- stick
- helmet (we decided on white for future simplicity; feel free to pick your own visor and chin colors)
- (hockey helmets will be ok during practice but will be required for league play)
- gloves (hockey gloves work but are more stiff thus hindering cradling)
- arm guards/pads
- shoulder pads
- mouthpiece (strapped)
- protective cup
- cleats or turf shoes (depending on surface)(no cleats with metal in them)
- rib pads (optional)
Arm guards vs arm pads vs elbow pads:
Make sure you wear your gloves when you play catch, it will only make you better.
Boys goalie
- stick (goalie specific stick)
- helmet (we decided on white for future simplicity; feel free to pick your own visor and chin colors)
- throat protector
- gloves
- chest protector
- protective cup
- mouth guard (strapped)
- cleats or turf shoes (depending on surface)
Girls
Girls lacrosse is non-contact and has different equipment requirements. Eye protection and a mouth guard are required. Padded gloves are optional.
