27-Feb-2017 - Regular registration closes February 28th. This date is league driven as the league needs to know how many teams to assist them with the schedule. After the 28th, the league will charge association late fees which is an avoidable fee for us.

Late registration will be open from March 1 through March 15th. This is also league driven. After March 15, the league will no longer add any new teams. Any traveling registration after March 15th most likely will not be able to participate in league games.

We will be hosting league games this year in Bismarck! We will need lots of volunteers to assist with the weekend so watch for the dates to be announced! These games are only for the traveling players but non traveling players and families are more than welcome to be part of the event and volunteer to help out.

Preliminary cities that will be hosting league games for the 2017 season are Watertown, Bismarck, Brookings or Aberdeen, Grand Forks and Sioux falls. League will be April 22  through June 11.

Our season starts with indoor practices March 6th.  You can see the full practice schedule under Practices.

We are looking into scheduling another BMLA jamboree event like last year that traveling and non traveling players can participate.

We have decided not to participate with the Billings jamboree scheduled for April 8-9. Too many things going on that weekend and not enough interest to make it happen this year.

We are excited to begin the 2017 lacrosse season and are planning to kick it off with a Rattler get together, possibly a BBQ... weather permitting. We are tentatively planning this for Sunday April 9th.

There are two open Board of Director positions open. Contact a Board member or coach if you are interested in filling one of these positions. We really need these filled before the season starts.

10-Feb-2017 last updated - Check back for updates often. Planning can never start too early. Work on those stick skills!

Please take a minute to fill out a 2017 Participation Poll. It will help us and the league plan for 2017.

One of our 2017 goals is to start a girl's program, help us spread the word! Girl's programs exist in many other programs in the region.

Another 2017 goal is to seriously consider hosting a weekend of games in Bismarck/Mandan. It will take tons of effort by the BOD and parents to make it happen. It might not be a full blown 'league weekend' but maybe only 1-3 teams from out of town. Please email bismanlax@gmail.com  if your are interested in helping out with the weekend.

There is an affordable tournament in Billings April 7-9. Can we get enough players to go?

The DPLL (Dakota Premier Lacrosse League) season will be April 22 - June 11.

In 2016 the DPLL had Varsity, JV, 13U, and 11U divisions. 2017 will be 12U, 14U, 16U and Varsity. You will be playing the same group of players as 2016. The DPLL is offering a 7v7 option at all age brackets in order to allow more participation by smaller or newer programs.

US Lacrosse issued new guidance on age groupings that goes into effect September 2017 with early adoption encouraged.

So far 2017 only has three returning seniors. In 2016 there were struggles to field a full JV team many weekends even with more than 1-2 13U players playing up. We will probably field a varsity team with 19U and 16U ages. We need commitments in order to determine what age teams we can join within the league. Please register by the February 28th deadline. That will assist us with planning our league participation.
